Supporting all students in their learning is a key part of the philosophy at St Thomas More School.
Our teachers closely monitor each child's progress through regular assessments, in particular in reading, writing and speaking as well as mathematical understanding.These assessments help teachers to identify students who may need extra assistance at various stages of their schooling.
Students who are experiencing Literacy and / or Numeracy learning difficulties are supported through modified learning activities called 'Individual Education Plans' (IEP) set by the classroom teacher. Under the direction of the classroom teacher a number of Education Support Officers (ESO) support students in class or in small groups.
