🖤💛 ❤️ A Sea of Hands, A Community of RespectToday our students created a beautiful Sea of Hands display as part of National Reconciliation Week. Each hand represents respect, unity, and our shared commitment to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. As part of this activity, our R–2 students shared important words and messages inspired by this year’s Reconciliation Week theme, while our older students reflected on and wrote their own personal promises towards reconciliation.A big thank you to Miss Jessop for inspiring this meaningful initiative and for organising our students and staff so thoughtfully. And of course, congratulations to all of our students for the care, creativity, and respect they showed throughout this activity. ❤️🖤💛🤎🖐🏾🖐🏿Did you know? The Sea of Hands began in 1997 as a national movement created by Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation (ANTaR). Thousands of colourful hands were displayed outside Parliament House in Canberra to show support for the rights, recognition, and reconciliation of First Nations peoples. Today, the Sea of Hands continues to serve as a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in building understanding, respect, and a more inclusive future. ... See MoreSee Less
